SmartLink Headstages
Headstages that mate directly to the probe package connector — DIP, Omnetics, ZIF or Samtec — and digitize on an Intan RHD amplifier, with no adapter in the path.
Direct mate, no adapter
A SmartLink takes the probe package's own connector. SmartLink 16 accepts DIP-16, Omnetics-16 or ZIF-16; SmartLink 32 accepts Samtec-40 or Omnetics-32; SmartLink 64 accepts Samtec-40 or Omnetics-64. Nothing is inserted between the package and the headstage, which removes a connection to seat, a part to source, and a failure point from the chain.
What it weighs, and what it does not carry
2.0 g across all three — heavier than any X-Series model. There is no accelerometer, so head motion is not sampled alongside the neural data, and the housing is not sealed against moisture or chemicals. These are the trades for the direct connector mate.
Specifications
Intan RHD2132 on the 16 and 32, RHD2164 on the 64. SPI data bus. Supply 3.2–3.6 V. Output to Mil-Max or micro-HDMI. Record only — no stimulation mode.
Choosing between the lines
Take a SmartLink when the package connector is one it accepts and the preparation is acute or bench-side. Take an X-Series when mass matters, when motion needs to land on the same clock as the signal, when the animal lives in a cage, or when the protocol stimulates.
