A-Series Package
Standard Omnetics connector assembly for A-Series silicon probes, compatible with all major data acquisition systems.
Overview
The A-Series Package (pkg_acl) provides the standard connector assembly for NeuroNexus A-Series silicon probes. Each probe ships as a complete assembly with an Omnetics nano-strip connector (18-pin for ≤16-ch, 36-pin for 17–64-ch), wire bonds protected under epoxy, and a protective sleeve over the shank tip.
Assembly Design
- Connector: Omnetics nano-strip (18-pin or 36-pin depending on channel count)
- Cable: Flexible polyimide ribbon cable, 30–50mm standard length
- Shank Protection: Removable protective sleeve
- Weight: <0.5g total assembly
Compatibility
The Omnetics nano-strip is the industry standard for silicon probes and is supported by all major DAQ platforms, including NeuroNexus Allego, Intan RHD, Open Ephys, Plexon, TDT, Blackrock, and Ripple.
Use Cases
The A-Series Package is appropriate for acute and chronic preparations alike. For acute recordings, the low profile and light weight allow simple stereotaxic mounting. For chronic implants, the probe is typically cemented in place using dental acrylic and the Omnetics connector mates with a small headstage mounted to the skull.
