Optrode/Vector Package
A Vector probe carrying an optical fibre alongside the recording array, so light reaches a deep target on the same trajectory as the electrodes.
Light down a long tract
A Vector probe already puts a short recording array at the end of a rigid support body sized to reach a subcortical target. Adding a fibre means light arrives at that same depth on the same insertion, rather than from a second implant with its own trajectory error.
Catalog builds run 16 and 32 channels, with cable lengths of 60, 100 and 115 mm and a low-profile variant.
The shared constraint
Every optrode package puts a light path and a recording path on one implant. Two things follow, and they are true of all of them:
- The fibre adds cross-section. Whatever the probe displaced on its own, it displaces more with a fibre alongside — along the whole trajectory, not just at the tip.
- Light reaches the electrodes too. A photoelectric artifact at stimulus onset is a property of the geometry, not a fault; plan the analysis window around it rather than discovering it in the data.
On a Vector the cross-section point bites hardest: the support body is already wider than a silicon shank, and the fibre adds to it along the entire tract above the target.
