Activus SiNAPS Package
The Activus assemblies for SiNAPS probes — 256 or 1,024 channels, in standard and hybrid builds — carrying a digital stream rather than analog signal, because the probe digitizes on the shank.
Packaging a probe that has already digitized
A conventional package routes analog traces from the shank to a connector, and every one of them is a chance to pick up noise. A SiNAPS probe amplifies, filters and multiplexes beneath each electrode before anything leaves the shank, so the Activus assembly is carrying data. That is what makes 256 and 1,024 channels practical on an implant: the count is not limited by how many analog traces the package can carry.
The same property is the constraint. The probe runs only on the interface it was built for — SmartBox and the SiNAPS interface — so the package is not a step you can swap to reach a different acquisition system.
Builds
256 and 1,024 channels, standard and hybrid, some in a 3D-printed polymer case. A hybrid build with a 30 mm cable is in the catalog.
