Reference & Ground Electrodes

Ag/AgCl pellet and wire reference electrodes, plus ground screws and pre-soldered wire, for stable DC baseline and common-mode noise rejection in acute and chronic setups.

Reference & Ground — FAQ

Setting a stable baseline and rejecting noise.

Reference vs. ground — what's the difference?

The ground sets the animal to the amplifier's common; the reference is the baseline each channel is measured against. A bad ground is a common source of noise.

Why Ag/AgCl?

Ag/AgCl electrodes hold a stable half-cell potential, giving a low-drift DC baseline for reliable referencing across a long session.
