Which microdrive fits my prep?

Match the drive to shank count and target depth — single-drive for one shank, multi-drive arrays for distributed sites. Chronic caps re-adjust depth across sessions.

Do I need both a manipulator and a microdrive?

Not always. A manipulator positions the probe during acute insertion; a microdrive re-adjusts depth in chronic preps. Many chronic labs use both.

What does NeuralGlider do differently?

It inserts at a controlled velocity that reduces tissue dimpling and probe drift, improving yield on fragile high-density probes.
