How does the signal set the electrode?
Site size and spacing follow the band — small dense sites for spikes, larger sites for LFPs, and thin-film surface grids for ECoG, EEG, and ECG.
Can one probe capture spikes and LFPs?
Yes. Most penetrating silicon probes record both simultaneously across their site array — the bands are separated in software.
What's the difference between ECoG and EEG here?
ECoG grids sit directly on the cortical surface; EEG arrays record from the scalp or outer surface. Both are thin-film surface arrays.
